Starting a family is a beautiful dream, but for some, it can take longer than expected. If you’ve been trying to conceive for a year (or six months if you’re over 35) without success, it may be time to consult a healthcare professional.
There are many reasons why pregnancy might not occur right away: hormonal imbalances, irregular cycles, or even unexplained factors.
You may want to consider a fertility consultation in the following cases:

Irregular or absent menstrual cycles

If your periods are unpredictable or absent altogether, it may be a sign of an ovulation problem.

Diagnosis of a reproductive health issue

If you or your partner have been diagnosed with endometriosis, low sperm count, or other fertility issues.

IVF at SANUS Clinic: Who is eligible?

IVF treatments are available at SANUS Clinic in accordance with Czech legislation.

What are the requirements for undergoing IVF treatment with egg donation at SANUS Clinic?

At SANUS Clinic, IVF treatment with egg donation is offered in accordance with specific legal conditions set out by Czech regulations. In the Czech Republic, IVF treatment is legally available only to heterosexual couples. Both partners must provide their consent for the treatment to proceed. Women can undergo IVF treatment up to the age of 49, whether using their own eggs or those from a donor.

Gamete donation in the Czech Republic: anonymity, free of charge, and no waiting list

Czech legislation ensures strict anonymity for egg and sperm donors. Donors are carefully selected based on health and age criteria to ensure optimal treatment outcomes. Egg and sperm donation is voluntary and entirely free of charge, in accordance with European Union regulations and Czech law. The Czech Republic has a strong network of approved donors, which significantly reduces waiting times for patients compared to many other countries.

Important information for our English patients:

SANUS Clinic strictly adheres to the standards and regulations set by the European Union regarding assisted reproduction and egg donation. It guarantees full donor anonymity and that donation is entirely free of charge. Both of these conditions are enshrined in Czech law on Assisted Reproduction.

You can download a certificate from the clinic confirming compliance with these conditions, which you can present to your gynaecologist.

Partial reimbursement by Social Security for French nationals

Under certain conditions, you may be eligible for partial reimbursement of your fertility treatment by your health insurance fund. We will provide you with the necessary documents (estimates, invoices, etc.) to help with this process.

Please note that it is essential to obtain prior authorisation from Social Security before travelling for your treatment.

Your supplementary health insurance may also include financial support for this type of treatment. We recommend contacting your insurer as soon as you receive approval for partial coverage to check whether your plan includes fertility treatments abroad.
